Job Title: Safety and Compliance Administrator
Department: Safety
Reports To: Safety & Compliance Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Daylight is currently looking for a Safety and Compliance Administrator that will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Safety Department. The candidate for this role will be responsible for daily activities involving recordkeeping and qualifications as required by state and federal agencies, including but not limited to, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Health and Safety Administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain compliance records including but not limited to, DOT related files, rosters, accident register, hours of service logs, maintenance files and truck/vendor rosters.
  • Conduct daily compliance checks of safety compliance records, inspection reports and checklist for each Service Center.
  • Support the leadership team with OSHA compliance and communication, as needed.
  • Create and maintain weekly and monthly communication topics for the organization.
  • Assist with administrative support on safety projects, presentation development, initiatives, and outreach, as needed.
  • Generate and distribute reports on behalf of the Safety Department.
  • Provide overall administrative support to the safety department.
  • Conduct PPE audits and replenish, as needed.
  • Conduct safety related supplies audit and replenish, as needed.
  • Prepare and ship compliance documents to third-party services.
  • Participate in new-hire safety training, as needed.
  • Support the development and maintenance of company training database.
  • Operate a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data in computer database verify accuracy of entered data; make corrections; use knowledge of various software programs to operate a computer in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate hazardous waste pickups and recordkeeping manifest as required by EPA regulations.
  • Provides support in performing periodic evaluations to ensure equipment is being maintained in good working order, as applicable.
  • Provides support to the leadership team on incident reporting requirements and ensures all incidents, accidents, and injuries are added to the appropriate incident management database.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality on sensitive information.

Job Title: Hostler Driver-Part Time Weekend Mornings
Department: Operations

SUMMARY:
Daylight is currently looking for a Hostler to join our Family. Our Hostlers successfully move trailers on dock and maintain the yard. Hostlers are critical members of the Daylight Transport Family; they help to accurately deliver our customer’s freight and help us be the fastest long-haul LTL in the industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Set up trailers
  • Take empty trailer to other yard and maintain a neat trailer yard
  • Pull trailers from dock to yard, loaded and empty (maintain yard)
  • Position loaded and unloaded trailers at assigned dock space for unloading or loading.

Job Title: Dockworker – Full Time

SHIFT: EVENINGS-5:00PM to 2:00AM

SUMMARY
Daylight is currently looking for a Dockworker to join our Family. Our Dockworkers successfully load and unload freight throughout the shift using a forklift or manually in a safe, efficient manner. Will perform work associated with warehousing and other related duties as assigned. Would have flexible scheduling availability to include first shift, evening shift, weekend, and some holidays. Dockworkers are critical members of the Daylight Transport Family; they help to accurately deliver our customer’s freight and help us be the fastest long-haul LTL in the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines. Use various loading techniques, such as loading tight or cross loading.
  • Transport self and/or freight continuously throughout the service center in a forklift on non-forgiving surfaces.
  • Utilize Dock Yard Management System to consistently monitor freight shipment locations throughout the service center.
  • Read and interpret shipping labels. Familiarity with, and in some cases ability to complete the various forms utilized in freight movement such as shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, overage/damage movement reports and exception forms.
  • Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary.
  • Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope).
  • Frequent contact with service center personnel; fast-pace and deadline oriented.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Account Executives are responsible for meeting revenue and profit goals in their given geography. The Account Executive should be responsive to the customer, ensuring expectations are met and exceeded.   • Compliance Audits
    • Perform planned and random audits of various internal departments in accordance with applicable auditing standards and internal processes and procedures.
    • Perform planned and random daily surveillance audits of various areas of the organization to ensure compliance.
    • Identify processes, situations, and reported incidents where the organization is meeting requirements as well as identify opportunities for improvement.

SUMMARY The primary focus of the Quality Coordinator (QC) is to focus on maintaining the highest quality freight handling practices to ensure our customers receive exception free handling. The QC will assist with compliance to safety standards, tool supplies availability and dock location, bill control, documentation compliance and inspection of incoming and outgoing loads, and load security.
This position requires an individual that is motivated and passionate about quality compliance and customer satisfaction. The QC must be able and willing to communicate with other employees, vendors, and members of management in a manner that supports quality. QC must be versatile by assuming dock-worker functions as needed and support management by performing tactical functions as needed.
The Quality Coordinator is responsible to monitor the adherence to work instructions and is empowered to make immediate corrections to non-compliance. The QC is expected to lead by example, demonstrate proper work methods, coach and train dock workers to Daylight’s standards of quality.
As a QC, you have been identified as a leader in quality. You must be familiar with and adhere to all work instructions for the functions performed during your shift. A QC must be safety minded, reliable, attentive to detail, and committed to the execution of quality in all functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-

  • Safety in the work are is adhered to by all.
  • Prepare the work area, ensure all tools are in designated areas.
  • Inspect trailer(s) prior to loading. i.e. ensure it is free of debris, nails, holes, etc.
  • Monitoring and ensure the proper equipment is being used for freight movement.
  • Monitor & ensure proper housekeeping functions are followed during the unloading process.
  • Monitor unloading/loading methods to allow for safe and exception free delivery.
  • Oversee and ensure proper and uniform weight distribution throughout loading process.
  • Monitor and make certain recoup practices are followed. Shipments are to be presented to the consignee in an exception free manner.
  • Oversee proper completion of all required documentation.
  • Monitor and ensure “Load Quality” communication is being followed in accordance with work instructions.
  • Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines. Use various loading techniques, such as loading tight or cross loading.
  • Read and interpret shipping labels. Familiarity with, and in some cases ability to complete the various forms utilized in freight movement such but not limited to; shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, overage/damage movement reports and exception forms.
  • Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary.
  • Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope).
  • Frequent contact with service center personnel; fast-pace and goal driven.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Safety and Compliance Supervisor will develop, implement, and administer policies and programs to establish and promote safety, environmental/transportation compliance and safe working conditions within the company.   • Manage all DOT Hours of Service, ELD, driver qualification and equipment compliance.
  • Create and maintain all OSHA documentation, logs, forums, safety materials and emergency supplies.

Job Title: OS&D Coordinator

Summary: The OS&D coordinator will inspect shipments to validate claims; work with claimants to assess responsibility and recreate scenarios to assess liability. This position will also address overage, shortage, and damage issues; research causes of claims; analyze root causes; determine solutions; communicate findings and provide quality customer service to both external and internal customers alike.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Contact with agents to discuss or resolve OS&D/On-hand issues
  • Contact with customers to resolve OS&D/On-hand issues
  • Receive and enter unloading exceptions
  • Generate OS&D reports
  • Billing – OS&D/On-hand
  • Interface with internal customers
  • Issue legal notices of undeliverable freight
  • Maintain accurate records for reporting all OS&D freight on a daily/weekly basis to service center
  • Assist with answering telephones, provide QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE, don’t blind transfer calls, own the call as you get it and assist with resolving customer concerns efficiently
  • Research and resolve OS&D freight issues
  • Locate overages, shortages and damaged freight

SUMMARY: Primary focus is on freight bill entry using NMFC guide to classify and rate the bills. Source document is the Bill of Lading.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Enters freight information necessary for freight claims such BOL, insurance ID, and provider information. Insures claim information is complete and accurate.
  • Receive and sort incoming payments
  • Manage and track incoming payments
  • Manage account statuses
  • Identify inconsistencies
  • Regularly update accounts receivable database
  • Inform clients on their outstanding debts and deadlines
  • Answer clients’ equations and address problems
  • Post bills, receipts and invoices
  • Prepare and present report to your supervisor
  • Freight bill auditing Flagging bills for illegible writing or missing information

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – None
